When did the Edge NYC open?

On March 11, 2020, the Edge was opened on the 100th floor of the skyscraper making it the highest open-air observation in the Western hemisphere. It has a very unique design, it is triangular-shaped that extends out 80 feet from the side of 30 Hudson yards, this makes it look like being hanging in the mid-air.

When it comes to tickets, there are three categories of tickets available.

1. General Booking

For general bookings which just include a visit to the Edge, the ticket costs $ 36(13-61 years) for adults, $31 for the child ( 6-12 years), and $34 (62+ years) for seniors.

2. Champagne Booking

The second category of ticket includes a visit plus Champagne and you have to pay some extra bucks that will be $53( 21-61 years) for adult $ 51for senior visitors (62+ years).

3. Premium Booking

The third and last category is the premium one which is inclusive of visit, Champagne, and a personalized photo book that will cost $71 for adults ( 21-61 years old), and $69 for senior visitors(62+ years old).

For children and adults below 21 years of age, general cost ( only admission charge that is $31 for a Child and $36 for an adult) will be charged for the second and third category. Entry of 5-year-old children and below is free.

NOTE- Earlier there was an option to book your tickets on-site before the arrival of unprecedented covid-19 but now every visitor is required to pre-book their tickets online at edgenyc.com.

Discounts available for Edge NYC

  • If you have a New York sightseeing pass or New York flex pass then you can visit the edge for free. These passes also include a visit to the empire state building, one world observatory, and top of the rock.
  • New York City citizens get $2 off on adult tickets.
  • Children below 5 years of age need no tickets.
  • If you’re up for exploring New York city then you can go for some combo packages, to save some extra bucks. ( Combos-Edge+Statue of liberty/Rockefeller and Times Square tours/9-11 memorial museum).

Best time to visit Edge NYC

Edge NYC remains open throughout the year. Visiting hours for Edge starts at 10 AM till 10 PM from Monday to Thursday. For weekends( Friday to Sunday) you can visit anytime between 19 AM to 11 PM. Do keep in mind that the last elevator ride is 50 minutes before the closing hour.

They have introduced several covid-19 precautionary measures like reduced the number of guests by 75% to ensure optimal spacing between visitors, timed ticket to avoid queues, and crowd,  mandatory temperature screening.
