This holy place is well known for the visit by CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs in 1970 and Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook. It is said that Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg got their directions after blessings of Lord Hanuman and Neem Karoli Baba.

The Story

My friends were unaware of the fact that I was planning to visit the Kainchi Dham Temple. We had a three day’s plan. We planned the first two days to attend the marriage of my childhood friend Manoj. Kanchi Dham temple was one of my desires after knowing that Apple founder Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook got their path after visiting the famous temple.

My friend Manoj was thrilled to see us as we were very close friends to him and were meeting after a very long time. We were all excited because, among us, he was the first person to get married. Manoj’s father, mother, and sister were all happy to see us because in childhood we all used to play together. The first day went by in meeting all the people who were his relatives.

My friend Praveen, Manjeet and Shubham planned to visit Nainital as it was very near to my friend’s house but at that point I told him that we are going to visit Kainchi Dham temple. After so much of fighting and discussion, they all agreed. One of the relatives of my friend Manoj helped us to hire a taxi. To my surprise, hiring a taxi from Halduchaur, which was near to Lal Kuan to Kainch Dham was very cheap; it was around 2200 Indian rupees only. I took my jacket and bottle of water and went towards the famous temple of Lord Hanuman.

The area of the Nainital and those beautiful mountains were very clearly visible from my friend’s house window and as soon as we started our journey towards Kainchi Dham those mountains were like they were running towards us. My friends started taking pictures and videos of those beautiful mountains and trees and those rivers that were saying something to me. Around 2 and half hour of traveling we finally reached Kainchi Dham.

It is said that no one can reach there until unless he calls you. This is what I felt when I reached that place. I was thinking to visit the temple from last 2 years. A beautiful temple in the middle of huge pine trees and the feel of winter wind was truly a heavenly feeling.

We all washed our feet and entered into the premises of the temple. There is a unique aura that you can’t feel anywhere else. When you reach there, you will have a different kind of calmness and a special kind of silence within yourself. I saw the Idols of Lord Hanuman and Baba Neem Karoli. My heart was willing to visit this holy place as I was also searching for some meaning in my life since 2019. At that moment I was still searching for my answer but a sense of satisfaction was there. I sat in front of the idol of Baba Neem Karoli and started my Vipassana meditation for 10 minutes. Spend around 45 minutes in the temple. Usually, a lot of thoughts used to come in my mind but when I was in the temple I was like there is not even a single thought in my head.

The temple priest offered us prasads and we took some photos and videos as we started coming back to our cab which was waiting outside the temple. The driver of the cab was a nice person. He arranged some parathas to eat near to the temple before leaving the place. I was searching for a small idol or photograph of Babaji but I was not able to find one. After few minutes of searching, we got a small passport size photo of Babaji and I don’t know what came in my mind, I brought it and kept it in my wallet and started with the journey back to my friend’s house. I took a deep breath inhaling the aura and the environment once again looking at the mountains and the trees near the temple and waved final goodbye to Baba Neem Karoli.
